aniccā is a trans-Himalayan lab for thought and practice rooted in Ladakh. It is a site for research, artistic production, and hospitality that supports critical inquiry into place, material culture, ecology, memory, and the conditions of contemporary life in the Himalayas.

1930

A family home rooted in Ladakhi tradition, where generations gathered around shared meals, seasonal work, and everyday life.

1992

The house continued to witness changing times, carrying its stories, craftsmanship, and memories into a new era.

2017

A vision for restoration began—preserving the house's heritage while preparing it for a new chapter.

2026

Reborn as Aniccā, a trans-Himalayan home for art, research, practice, and hospitality.

For generations, this traditional Ladakhi house stood as a family home, shaped by the rhythms of mountain life and the craftsmanship of local builders. Constructed with earth, stone, and timber using time-honoured techniques, it embodies the architectural wisdom of the region.
